The planning of our 24th Annual Hunger Walk is well underway! This year FAM’s South Orange County Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011. Special kickoff activities begin at 1p.m. at the San Clemente Community Center. We hope you will consider being a sponsor of this worthy cause!
Did you know?
- It often surprises people to know that even in affluent South Orange County hunger is a very real issue.
- Currently, FAM provides food and assistance to approximately 2000 individuals each month. As the economy continues to decline, the numbers continue to grow.
- Last year FAM redistributed just under $2 million dollars in food to the hungry in our community! We are in need of a commercial refrigerator to add to our pantry and a refrigerator truck which will allow us to pick up food from wider geographic area. These items will help us serve more hungry people!
We know that you share our concern for those in need in our community. The FAM Board of Directors and staff would like to invite you to participate in our annual event by becoming an official sponsor of our walk. As a sponsor, you will receive recognition in our promotional materials to include the event program, FAM website and an opportunity to be included on the event t-shirt. There are many ways that you, your business, and/or your civic group can get involved to help battle the hunger in our midst.
